It’s been 26 fucking years since Bill Clinton held elected office in these United States. Believe it or not we’ve actually had two democratic presidents since then. Perhaps relitigating the 1990s isn’t super useful when we’re t-minus 25 days from midterms against the Party of Public Executions

Rep. Levin has to be circumspect in public statements and implies that the administration reduced prosecution of sex trafficking because they focused on immigration instead. I'm just some guy so I can draw the pretty obvious connection that they did this because the President is a sex trafficker

I’m learning that the people who gamified paragraphs are having trouble reading books. www.axios.com/2026/08/11/r...

AXIOS

Al has become my reading buddy as I've plowed through my summer book list, helping me keep track of plots and characters, unpack themes, and make sense of wordy, old prose.
• Why it matters: The way many of us actually read books - a few pages before bed, a chapter at the beach, another on a plane - makes it easy to lose the thread. Al can help you pick it back up without starting over.
Ш I really got into using Al while reading James Fenimore Cooper's "The Last of the Mohicans." The text was far too dense for casual vacation reading. My first prompt asked:
• "T'd like a guide as I read The Last of the Mohicans who can help me understand what I've read and where the story is, without giving spoilers or getting ahead of my progress. Can you do this, chapter by chapter?"
• The robot agreed: "Cooper's sentences are long and his diction is archaic."

Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
To O’Mara, the diet is not just a temporary means of losing weight but a way to eat for good. He has been doing it for 10 years, and credits it with turning his life around. At one point in our conversation he pulled up the Bristol Stool Chart, which ranges from Type 1 (“separate, hard pellets”) to Type 7 (“watery, no solid pieces”). O’Mara is consistently delivering Type 4 (“smooth, soft, like a snake”), with pointed ends, indicative of healthy rectal function, he told me. “When you start eating healthy, you don’t need toilet paper,” he claimed. “Animals in the wild have no residual stool on their anus.” He described a proper bowel movement to me this way: odorless, wipe-free, over in three to seven seconds and “nearly orgasmic.”

“I could have a bowel movement behind a sheet at a dinner party in the corner of the room,” he said, “and nobody would know.”

The idea that the wealthy, the middle class, and the poor are all in completely separate housing markets with no overlap ignores how things work in the real world. In the absence of new high end housing, wealthy people outbid the middle class for the best available existing housing and renovate it.

The two hardest and most unforgiving facts in housing policy are that it actually costs a lot of money to build new homes and that the rents that poor people can afford are not enough to pay off the cost of construction.

YOU ARE THE ONE CLAIMING ROMEO WAS ACTUALLY TRYING TO PISS OFF HIS PARENTS. SO cite your fucking source! Where in the *text* does he ever say that? Where is it even fucking IMPLIED? The text is all searchable! why is an English teacher like yourself unable to find a single relevant quote?

You claimed that Romeo’s love of Juliet was done to aggravate his parents. What possible text from the play are you basing this on? Where in the text does Shakespeare say Romeo wants to anger his parents? Are you inventing dialogue to support your “interpretation?”
100
brsincbus.bsky.social @brsincbus.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
You’re illiterate The foolishness and naivete of Romeo and Juliet is not the point of the play - it is explicitly the *blood feud of their families* that is set up for criticism Do English teachers routinely invent text (“Romeo was just trying to piss off his parents” 🤪) or is that just you?
110
brsincbus.bsky.social @brsincbus.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
The prologue is not remotely sarcasm. You’re reading meaning into the text that was never there to support your illiterate, contrarian take. Shakespeare’s take on romantic love is consistent with how love is presented in early English plays where characters routinely fall in love rapidly

brsincbus.bsky.social @brsincbus.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
The short prologue explicitly states they are in love. Twice: A pair of star-cross'd **lovers** take their life; Whose misadventured piteous overthrows Do with their death bury their parents' strife. The fearful passage of their death-mark'd **love**

brsincbus.bsky.social @brsincbus.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Can you actually identify where in the text Romeo expresses happiness that falling in love with Juliet will piss his family off? Or is that something you made up because you are still mad at your English teacher for forcing you to read challenging material.

For 45 years, Berkeley built virtually no new housing. By the mid-2010s, it was one of the most expensive college towns in America. Around that time, YIMBYs took over and kicked off a building boom. Today, rents are below 2018 levels in nominal terms—a remarkable case of progress on affordability.
