Happy May the Fourth! Today, I have a couple of updated versions of the galaxy’s most middling… couple! These designs better reflect their character traits and backstories, adding texture to their looks, in my opinion. I’ve also tacked on a Niami’s-eye-view of the pair. Xanatíri cannot see red.

A pixel art portrait of the Mandalorian on the BlackJack201. In this updated version, their red and purple armor is styled in a fashion meant to seem imitation of true Mandalorian armor. The vertical portion of their visor is thin and panted over the breathing apparatus of whatever helmet they originally started with, and the area around their eyes is highlighted in a lighter red color. Paired with the simple, wide V-shaped decoration on their forehead, it is meant to draw attention to these characteristics which show both their intelligence and their connection with the themes of identity.

A pixel art portrait of Princess Niami of Xanatír, a half-human, half-Xanatíri woman with long ginger hair, bright green eyes, and a characteristic fang on the right side of her mouth, on the BlackJack201. In this updated version, she sports a dress/tunic that iterates off her original, more simplistic design but adds clearly Xanatíri design characteristics, such as the thin, vertical yellow/green details along the front designed to imitate the long grass of Xanatír, and her off-gold collar trim. It is still mainly red with dark red sleeves.

An alternate depiction of the Mandalorian, shown with no use of red, as Niami or any other Xanatíri would see them. Their visor is now bordered by green, and their purple armor appears as blue.

An alternate depiction of Princess Niami of Xanatír, shown with no use of red, as she herself or any other Xanatíri would see her. The red on her tunic-dress is now green, and her hair is now a bright yellow.

DaCopo is back—with a vengeance. At his side are his ever-loyal rustbucket ‘Crunchoid’ Battle Droid minions. These little guys don’t really have as much personality as their unique patterns suggest—not enough room for those in their tiny casings. Intradisruptioners, to victory! #starwars #cis #oc

A pixel-art rendition of a Crunchoid, a spherical battle droid of primarily cyan blue and brownish purple, with small circular battle droid eyes and a layered casing that houses a wheel which serves as the bottom of the sphere. It has thin, straight arms, and holds a blaster pistol in its right hand.

The Crunchoid has a large window behind it overlooking the ocean of the planet it is based on, and is stacked atop another Crunchoid.

The Hometrycols, Xanatír’s royal family. Niami’s parents, Queen Nirbona and King Consort Sohliad, are exceptional in many ways. The KC is human, a rare sight in Xanatíri politics, and the two reign during a particularly strained time for the Republic of which Xanatír is a member world. #starwarsocs

A pixel-art rendition of Queen Nirbona on a wooden chair in front of a wood-framed painting (wood is very rare and precious on Xanatír) hanging on a wall with wallpaper bearing vertical red stripes designed to resemble trails of blood. She has long, dark hair and dark red eyes that hide a long-contained rage. She is seen displaying typical Xanatíri fangs, but sports a blank expression on her face. She has light skin and freckles on her cheeks, and wears red and black royal robes along with a cartoonishly shaped red and gold crown.

A pixel-art rendition of the human King Consort Sohliad on a wooden chair in front of a wood-framed painting (wood is very rare and precious on Xanatír) hanging on a wall with wallpaper bearing vertical red stripes designed to resemble trails of blood. He has light brown hair greying at the temples, a mustache, and dark brown eyes, sporting a blank expression on a face redder than those of his wife or daughter. He wears a dark red shirt under a golden royal robe with a grey interior. along with a cartoonishly shaped red and gold crown.

A pixel-art rendition of Princess Niami on a wooden rocking chair in front of a wood-framed painting (wood is very rare and precious on Xanatír) hanging on a wall with wallpaper bearing vertical red stripes designed to resemble trails of blood that appear noticeably lighter than that behind her parents. She has long red hair and bright green eyes. The princess also displays her single typical Xanatíri fang in the right side of her mouth, and sports a half-smile. She has light skin and wears a red dress with dark red sleeves along with a cartoonishly shaped red and gold crown.

I saw this chart on Instagram and thought it was funny—it’s comparing Sequels Luke to old EU Luke I’m not a sequel fan and don’t like the direction they took his character—but I struggle to see how anyone could think any of these things are *good* Maybe it’s just the way it’s worded lol

Meet Umbrular Cierqen, a Jedi Knight from Xanatír’s desert region. While he has seldom visited his home planet, he does take a moderated interest in Xanatíri culture (careful to avoid attachment). He leads the 269th Clone Legion along with his considerably more reserved Padawan, Invresse Retsbor.

Jedi Knight Umbrular Cierqen, a bronze-skinned man with dark greenish-brown hair and dark blue eyes. A Xanatíri, he bears his fangs with a moderate amount of planetary and cultural pride and wears a confident smirk on his face. His Jedi robes are more open around his chest. He stands at the edge of the Xanatíri desert, overlooked by a tall mountain range and nearby a rare solitary tree. At the base of the tree is a small red-and-yellow creature native to Xanatír’s desert.

Jedi Padawan Invresse Rotsbur, a dark-skinned human with black hair, brown eyes, and a traditional Padawan braid over his right shoulder. He wears dark red and tan Jedi robes with a brown cloak. He stands at the edge of the Xanatíri desert, overlooked by a tall mountain range and nearby a rare solitary tree. At the base of the tree is a small red-and-yellow creature native to Xanatír’s desert.

A member of the 269th Clone Legion of the Grand Army of the Republic, sporting red and yellow details on the classic white Phase II Clone Trooper armor, standing in front of a wall light on a Venator-class Star Destroyer. The area directly under his ‘frown’ is a bright red, accentuated by straight up-and-down red lines across his chest plate and down his arms, which are inspired by myths and (arguably racist) cultural stereotypes of the Xanatíri, designed to evoke a mouth frothing with blood which then flows down the body from a Xanatíri’s fangs. The design of the forehead depicts a red-and-yellow tree-dwelling creature found in the Xanatíri desert, which serves both as a symbol of status and good fortune in Xanatíri culture, at least according to what master Cierqen has told them of his home planet and what they’ve managed to find on the holonet…

Some alternate designs for Moll. The red and white, if I can make it work, might be the right direction to go in for her standard Military Intelligence Uniform. The black is probably more from her very early days in the Empire—I’ve been working more on her backstory. Dark tan is just for fun.

A pixel art portrait of Imperial Intelligence Agent Moll Cuùk, sporting a red and white uniform and black cap, standing in front of an imperial wall light. She has long, straight ginger hair, blue-green eyes, and an angrily determined expression.

Meet Mérvine Dacopo of Dacopo Industries, a powerful CEO, foodstuff mogul (he claims the popular ‘Crunchies’ cereal as his brainchild) and not-so-secret member of the Separatist Alliance through the Commerce Guild. My only real gripe with Andor is the same gripe I've had with a lot of new Star Wars stuff, and it's the aliens. There are clearly two different teams at Lucasfilm doing the alien masks and costumes, and they do not mesh at all imo.

Meet Senator Ingruim Hometrycol of Xanatír, sister of Queen Nirbona and “Auntie” to Niami. Functioning as the Princess’ needed lifeline back to Xanatír, she serves her homeworld with dignity and poise, though has she become too accustomed to life on Coruscant? Her haircut certainly says so…

Pictured standing in front of an egress of the Galactic Senate chamber is Senator Ingruim Hometrycol, a woman with very dark brown hair, light skin, gray eyes, and freckles. She is seen bearing her sharp fangs that are characteristic of the Xanatíri species, as they help her stand out and not be mistaken for a human in the crowded chamber, though her bob haircut reflects a notable difference from Xanatíri tradition. Perhaps she has been courted by certain otherworldly trends?

Meet HRM Queen Nirbona of Xanatír, a woman of strange and timeless yet gaunt beauty. aA vampiric echo of days long gone by, a lover of shadowy corners, and most importantly Niami’s mother. Xanatír is a matriarchal society so she serves as the supreme authority (with hollower power in recent years).

A quick sketch of Queen Nirbona, a gaunt and freckled vampiric woman with long dark hair and a cartoonishly simple crown.

Despite my misgivings I watched the first episode of skeleton crew and I definitely enjoy the premise, the kids are all good actors and I enjoyed seeing some deep-cut references. The frog-dog in particular made me smile. It’s alright so far, though I’m still worried about ep. 2. #starwars

Is the robot in skeleton crew really called that in the show or is that just a minor reference in the subtitles or something First the little guy on Gorian Shard’s ship now this Am I the only one getting tired of Disney’s self referential BS?

Honestly my feelings about TLJ sucking is that it didn't go far enough. It flirted with interesting ideas, just to fall back into "oh yep generic good vs evil" by the end. The your mom joke was about 30 years late too.

Here’s a #pixelart of Princess Leia with Niami paying homage in the second picture. The two have a mutual sense of admiration and respect, at least in the few times they’ve met. Almost two decades older than Leia, Niami would like to think she was somewhat inspirational to the Alderaanian Princess.

Just don't like this movie. It was doing so good for me until it went out of it's way to make sure the ending set up the most basic Star Wars thing: red sword baddie with huge evil army vs blue sword goodie with small rebellion. I wish it DID leave the past behind, but it double downed on it.
