If you're not familiar, the inventor of the Sleng Teng rhythm was a Japanese woman working at Casio who programmed a beat track for the ages. She gave an interview a while back where she hinted that she copped it from a 70's english rock song. I'm saying it's Neat Neat Neat youtu.be/H_STPoI_eoM?...

Got it finally. One of the best classic reggae compilations out there. Basically a Jimmy Radway greatest hits album (complimentary).

On this day, Oct. 2, 1984, Twin/Tone Records released the Replacements’ “Let It Be” album and rooftop photo. Fans who for six weeks had been spinning the “I Will Dare” single relentlessly finally got to hear the full new LP, which has come to be considered an all-timer @mplsmusichistory.bsky.social

My JA pressing of this superb LP, known as Super Eight, came in this sleeve - which is the same sleeve as the brilliant JA 12inch cut of the title track came in. I adore this LP, his wonderful voice and Perry’s absolute genius combined to make one of the best reggae albums in my collection.

brb just listening to the worst album cover of all time again, and I gotta admit, I'm fascinated. This album is good but the cover is a grade 5 art contest winner.

My brain is still trying to process the divide between the horribly lazy album cover art and the solid musical content. What are some other albums with really shitty album covers that are actually good? This is the Wipers' Land of the Lost of reggae.

Playing this again. The amount of absolute classics on this 2LP set is astounding. Johnny had so many fucking killer singles. Might be a desert island pick for me. 10/10 album. Buy on sight. Nice pressing and the overall graphic design/liner notes are great too. VP Records doing the lord's work.
