These guys in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Arizona think a judge's order is a suggestion. On the left is Judge Hinderaker's 10/6 order in the case of a gay man the Trump admin sent to Equatorial Guinea, where he has faced beatings and threats to his life. On the right is all that DOJ filed today.

10. Within three (3) days of the date of this Order, and every seven (7) days thereafter until Plaintif's return to the United States or further order of the Court, Defendants must file a status report, supported by a declaration from an official with personal knowledge, stating: (a) the information known to Defendants about Plaintiff's current location, custodial status, and physical condition; (6) the steps Defendants have taken since the prior report to comply with paragraph 5; and (c) the further steps Defendants intend to take and the anticipated timeline. Plaintiff may respond to each status report within three (3) days.

Pursuant to the Court's order issued on October 6, 2026 (Doc. 14), Respondents hereby inform the Court that Respondents are working collaboratively with Petitioner's counsel who shared valuable information to help Respondents attempt to locate and contact Petitioner.
Respondents had a conference with the relevant stakeholders within the government and are beginning the process to facilitate Petitioner's return.
