Turns out Aeneas is more of a scrub with Dido than I recalled. He “married” her but then had a tiny technicality (no groom torch) but to everyone in the world it was marriage. Lots of “running away” going on for the Founder. Total s*** and we are about to see more of it too. #audiobook

Ooh, it gets worse. He runs back in to find her... and "dares to yell her name" but then magically finds her ghost (spoiler: she is dead). Ghost tells him "Gods say we aren't meant to go together. You will find Italy and such... and a queen as a new wife." C'mon man. Kinda convenient. #book

As a founding myth for Rome, Aeneas is a bit s***. During the sack of Troy he magically hears from his mom (Venus) to run away. Puts his dad on his back and takes off. His wife, Creusa, falls behind and is picked off. "I never saw her again". Pretty shabby stuff.
