Similar, but opposite for me. I don't write much so I don't care about followers, but I want to follow people I find interesting. The Twitter exodus was just more of a split because some people I want to follow came here and some refused to leave Twitter. Enshittification of a different kind.

I saw a comment online awhile back describing the current economy as "movie theater pricing but for everything." I find myself remembering that comment after taking my daughter to a movie today. My first time in a theater since before covid I think. $32 for 1 adult and 1 kid ticket!!

I didn’t think Apple would allow you to ship another runtime environment like BEAM with an iOS app to the App Store but the author said he thinks people have done it. So maybe the rules on that have relaxed?

I was thinking about this since the Tailwind story last week. I suspect fewer people will be investing time and effort experimenting with interesting ideas because it’s just too easy to use an LLM as a super advanced, energy-consuming cookie cutter instead of thinking slightly outside the box now.
