The Viking Conquest of England is out! In a wonderful coincidence, it’s been released on August 26, my dad’s birthday. He died in 2023, while I was still writing it, and it’s dedicated to his memory. Dad was so supportive of my interest in history. August 26 is the perfect release day. #medievalsky

For anyone interested in Vikings, here's an interview I did with World History Encyclopedia about why the Danish Conquest of England happened, how Cnut established control, and why the Danish dynasty died out in England after just three decades. #medievalsky #vikings www.youtube.com/watch?v=uP7G...

Anyone else see this yesterday? I'm thrilled whenever Aethelred and the Danish Conquest are mentioned, but there's more to the story than can be summarized in a Jeopardy clue. #medievalsky brandonmichaelbender.com/2020/11/13/s...
A Jeopardy clue reading, "Are you unready for this English king? Massacring Danish settlers in 1002 set off invasions & 11 years later, a Dane had his crown."
