Today, we honor the lives lost 25 years ago on September 11th, 2001, and hold all those who still feel the effects of that day in our hearts.

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11h, 2001, and send our thoughts and condolences to all whose lives were irrevocably changed that day, from family members to first responders.
As we reflect on the 25 years since September 11, we must also pay our respects to those impacted by the U.S.'s domestic and foreign policy responses to the attacks on our nation. We mourn the countless lives lost in George W. Bush's
"War on Terror," and send solidarity to fellow Americans whom the government has wrongly surveilled and profiled as a result of the 9/11 attacks.

As we look to the next 25 years, my sincere hope is that our nation rights the many wrongs it has facilitated since the 9/11 tragedy. At home, we must dismantle the mass surveillance state that is a direct result of 9/11, as well as provide essential care to first responders and veterans who still feel the effects of their service on and after that day. Abroad, it will take more than the next quarter-decade to amend the harms done to innocent people across the Middle East and Central Asia.
May the next 25 years of remembrance be ones spent working for true peace and healing.

Abolishing ICE is the compromise position. Justice for Joan Sebastian Guerrero, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, and all who’ve suffered from ICE’s violence.

In the past week alone, ICE agents murdered Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Maine and Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Texas. My thoughts are with their loved ones, and people everywhere reeling from ICE’s terror across our country.

This, of course, is only the violence we know of; ICE and CBP’s operations continue to wreak havoc on communities from coast to coast, including our own.

When will enough be enough? How many more will die because of this criminal organization, sanctioned by the federal government? How many more families must mourn, or live in constant fear?

What will it take to abolish ICE?

Most of us lived in a world before ICE and CBP’s operations ran rampant. We can live in that world again.

Establishment politicians must listen to the majority of Americans who believe ICE is out of control. Stop making excuses for these agencies; defund them, and reinvest tax dollars used to terrorize immigrants into our communities instead.

Meet Adam Bojak
Adam grew up in a working-class household in East Aurora. The son of a postal worker and a public school employee, his family experienced the same budget strain we all know today. He also saw how union jobs can protect and provide for workers and their families alike.

After graduating from East Aurora High School, Adam earned his bachelor’s degree at Rochester Institute of Technology, and his law degree at SUNY Buffalo. For almost the entirety of his career, he has provided free legal services and advice to Western New Yorkers facing housing problems, including representing tenants facing legal disputes with their landlords; he also currently serves families across the region as assigned counsel in Family Court. His professional practice and beliefs have been shaped by his membership in the Buffalo Democratic Socialists of America, where he has been active and engaged since 2017.

Throughout his career, Adam has been a proven champion of everyday Western New Yorkers. Now, as he runs for New York State Assembly as a proud, democratic socialist, he remains dedicated to fighting for us against the issues we face daily, including: the lack of safe and affordable housing; skyrocketing health care, childcare, and household costs; and the weakening of labor union power. He is running for Assembly to stand up against corporate greed, and to ensure that every New Yorker can lead a stable and dignified life.
