Babies born this year will be my age in 2106. Wouldn't it be great if they had the advantages and opportunities I've had as a cis American white man?

Subverting democracy isn't new to John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, or Amy Coney Barrett. All three were on George W. Bush's "Florida Recount Team," which lay the groundwork for stopping vote counting in Florida—and Bush v. Gore, the politically-motivated SCOTUS decision that gave Bush the election.

On October 1, 1970, Janis Joplin walked into Sunset Sound Recorders in Los Angeles and recorded “Mercedes Benz,” an a cappella performance that would become the final studio recording of her life. 🕯️💖🕊️ 🌹
Written by Joplin with poet Michael McClure and Bob Neuwirth, the song was recorded in a single take, with Janis singing completely unaccompanied. Its humor and irony made it unlike almost anything else she had recorded.
Just three days later, on October 4, Joplin died at the age of 27 while still working on what would become Pearl.
“Mercedes Benz” was eventually included on the posthumously released album, leaving one of rock’s most unmistakable voices completely alone for one remarkable final studio performance.

A Cornell frat chat at 1:42 a.m. A lawsuit alleging seven members drugged and raped a student. Two years, no charges. They were about twelve when the Access Hollywood tape aired. The man on it won, was found liable for sexual abuse, and won again. The boys were watching.

EVs are awesome. I have a Hyundai Ioniq 5, which has a range of 300-350 miles. I charge it at home, which is convenient, and it costs me about $10 to completely recharge the battery. (84 kWh at 12 cents a kWh) Compare that to a similar size gas car, at 25-30 mpg, which would cost $54 to fill up.

The challenges we face must be met by a bold progressive populist movement that strengthens democracy and shakes up the system. We can’t simply return to the path we were on before Trump. We cannot allow Big Money to dominate our politics and economy. And we cannot capitulate to the oligarchy.
