iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Most of the rest was empty malls and dance floors.

It didn't really spark for me gameplay wise, but it gave me a character I absolutely love (Agent Black), one I despise (Elro) and a final boss fight that make me laugh incredibly hard, so absolute kudos for taking me on a journey, even if I'm not sure those were expected reactions.

no shortage of AI slop these days, but i think "the creators of dizzy are coming back to make a new game and it's AI slop" has me gobsmacked more than anything else. dizzy? fucking dizzy? you can't draw a fucking 8-bit egg on your own anymore? and you willingly admit this??

Getting tired of untested vibecoded ports that are just buggy and because no experienced coders are around, they can't fix it? Never fear, as I have listed decomps and recomps done by actual people and it will continue expanding! If you know any, lemme know!

If you think an artist's style looks like AI but you can scroll back through their portfolio and see them doing the same work before 2020, congrats, you're not looking at an AI grifter. You're looking at one of the original victims whose entire style AI stole.

I genuinely love it when games lie with the UI or do absurd things like extending the health bar beyond normal. Or giving the bad guy a health bar and healing that's a mirror of mine. Tell me things about the story with it! Mysterio is the ultimate illusionist, of course his health bar is fake too!

Etrian Odyssey vs Final Fantasy )or more appropriately Persona/Metaphor) is my first immediate thought... Mastering the dungeon is the story, vs the Dungeon is an obstacle in the narrative

How do you know what kind of RPG you're making? Well... 1. Do your players need to return to town mid-dungeon-delve because they ran out of resources and need to heal + sell? 2. When they do, do they hate your guts or are they taking it in stride because it's the core loop? xD

A close-up, slightly blurry photograph of a pre-packaged baguette sandwich wrapped in clear plastic with a light brown paper label around the center. The label features a prominent typo printed in bold, black capital letters that reads, "ROAST BEEF & CRIMINALIZED ONION RELISH."

And going by Rare's idea, Cranky is the original DK (the one who threw barrels at Mario). DK Jr. from the games of the same name and Mario Kart is the current(?) DK's dad. I have no idea how to explain Pauline.

It doesn't understand contrition. It's just following a trained conversational pattern after negative feedback. It will replicate the exact same failure state because this incident will not outweigh its prior training in role-playing at selling things.

we live in a world where "humanity is rotten to the core" is a more tolerable idea than "capitalism is kinda busted" but what I love about "capitalism is kinda busted" is realizing every good thing that happens is in spite of capitalism because humans are that committed to doing good things

in my circles it's always the opposite, "358/2 is so boring, just watch the cutscenes" and I can't disagree, or recommend playing it, but playing it slowly over a summer an age ago and getting the story gradually while doing busywork between felt right for the story it was telling at the time
