It's also hard to believe I'm taking him for chemo treatment because when I look at him I see the same old cat that's been healthy for ages. He's every Vet's favourite, just a sweet, gentle boy. I can feel the empathy coming from all the professionals helping him because they fell in love with him.

It's just hard. We lost one cat recently (she was nearly nineteen) and that was already painful. I know cats don't live forever, but he seemed so healthy I thought he'd easily make nineteen as well. I know chemo means we are giving him a chance, and I'm trying to stay positive, but it's hard.

He had to have his tummy shaved for an ultrasound a few weeks ago. He's a tuxedo and has a big white patch on his belly, surrounded by black. They shaved that off and I started to think that I might never see it grow back, never see that white patch again, and started to cry on my walk to work.

I started journaling my feelings, starting with writing the memories I have around his adoption and was fine until I decided to find the first photo I ever took of him, thirteen years ago this October. The simple act of scrolling through hundreds of photos of the happiest guy in the world broke me.

My cat starts chemo today. Less than two months ago you would have never guessed anything was wrong. Even the Vet thought he was in incredible health. And now I look at his bright eyes in his little kitty face but I can't explain to him what's going on and it is breaking my heart.

I used to visit my friend in the summer and I can vividly remember playing Battle Chess on her Tandy computer. I think it might be early enough in my life that my family didn't yet have our Fujitsu 286. That Tandy and Battle Chess were a huge deal to me.

I was struck by a truck while I was crossing at a pedestrian crosswalk. Was almost hit by another truck that speed through a red light at the opposite end of the same street six months later while I was crossing. No doubt a me problem.

Insomniac and Wolverin always felt like an odd fit to me, despite the Spoder-Man games. And I’m frankly always happiest playing an Insomniac game when I have a chicken canon or an acid sprinkler, so I’ve never really been happy they are Sony’s dedicated in-house Marvel machine.

I also think one can hold the opinion that the original hasn’t aged well (it hasn’t) and that the remake is aesthetically uninspired (it is) because those two ideas are not mutually exclusive. You also don’t have to be a fan of the original to think the remake is ugly. You just need to have eyes.

As a person who doesn’t really hold OoT in any particular regard I am not really concerned about the sanctity of the original, a game that’s still pretty accessible. So, with very little skin in the game, I can safely say that remake is a fairly ugly game.

I’m not really a big fan of the original, but watching footage of this remake proceeded by a few clips of the original during the musical medley and in comparison makes me want to replay the latter. There’s so much more charm in the original.
