Trump asked budget chief to draft order bringing health research funding under his control

As an American political historian, I can confirm that this Congress has been "almost unmatched in history" in several categories -- sad abdication of its war powers, craven surrender of the power of the purse, weird refusal to conduct meaningful oversight, and an utter failure to pass actual laws.

Data centers don’t just magically appear. Texas didn’t become the data center capital by accident. They go where politicians offer billion-dollar tax breaks, cheap power, weak regulations, and a giant welcome mat. If we’re serious about fighting these projects, follow the incentives.

Coal ash contains arsenic, lead, mercury, and other heavy metals. When it’s stored in unlined ponds near rivers and groundwater (which it often is) those toxins leach into the water supply. Communities downstream pay the price.
