The one upside is that gains between product generations have been shrinking for years. The AM4 platform is still viable. Intel is making new DDR4-based CPUs for next year. GPUs going back as far as the GTX 10 series can still handle 1080p gaming on modern titles. Used is fine, and supply is fine.

Gen AI is a dead end for anything worthwhile. It cannot maintain consistent characters well or consistent physics in video. All of the hundreds of tiny choices people make in a film are baked in and can't be changed with Gen AI. Using agentic and coding features instead will be more widespread.

It makes a lot of sense when you realize a lot of originalists idolize the Lochnerian view of the primacy of contracts above government's regulatory powers. He views marriage law as an extension of contract law and therefore sacrosanct even if he himself hates gays being able to marry.
