#Sniptober day 8! Going with vibes and 'help' here lol Snippet from a book I don't share nearly enough, Untamed (Feral Bonds Book 1). This is when Zaire saves Lathan after a brutal loss in a shifter/human fighting ring. www.im-no-angel.com/untamed.html #WritingCommunity #SnipShare

“ “Why did you help me?”
Zaire smiled, serving up the eggs and bacon with toast and bringing the plates to the kitchen table. “You needed me.”
Lathan’s brow furrowed. He folded his muscular arms over his broad chest, leaning against the doorframe. “There’s got to be more.”
“Does there?”
“Yes. People don’t just help strangers.”
Considering where Zaire had found Lathan, and how desperate his situation had become, he couldn’t really blame the young man for being skeptical.
Besides, Zaire hadn’t helped a stranger. He’d helped a man his beast recognized belonged to them. Not that he could tell Lathan yet. The unblooded were too human to immediately sense a bond. They needed to be coaxed a little more carefully to accept their mates.
So he told Lathan just enough of the truth to answer his question without making him bolt. “I was hired to deal with one of the men involved in running the fighting ring. Come, sit with me and I’ll tell you more.”

Excerpt From: Bianca Sommerland. “Untamed: Feral Bonds 1.” Apple Books.

#Sniptober 8 No helper today but I have assistant!

$The therapist’s hands found the tight knots nestled deep within their neck muscles. Each poke and jab precise, targeting every hidden ache and stubborn spasm. Pressure sharp, sometimes uncomfortable, but beneath it lay warmth that seeped through, grounding Lunaris. When the knot work ended, the therapist led them to the back room, a cavern of workout equipment and therapy tools. Lunaris followed, muscles humming, spine taut, moving through the familiar choreography of care and pain. They lay on the traction table, straps cinching snugly around their ribs and low back. The table moved, pulling their spine gently. The sensation stretched them apart and coaxed them back together. Lunaris surrendered, still, letting the slow motion thread through vertebrae and discs. After half an hour, the table stopped. The velcro bands were undone by the PT assistant’s warm, steady hands. “All done for now,” she said. “How are you feeling?” Lunaris exhaled softly, shoulders relaxing just a fraction. The relief was small but immense.$

#sniptober day 8 ~ couldn’t find helper, but i did find maids! snippet from a perfect match (2025) fanfic i started a couple months ago!! #writingcommunity #fanficwriting #cdrama #writingsnippet

text reads:

she refused to cry in front of the maids the Shen family provided for her. she didn't trust them anymore than she trusted (old lady's maid), but with leshan's indentity revealed, she was no longer allowed to attend her. in fairness, her maids weren't all bad. they were respectful and quiet, attending her side when she was in the shen's mansion. but until she was the true lady of the shen household, the maids would always remain loyal to old lady shen and the maid working directly under her. she couldn't allow her position as lady shen to threatened at such a crucial moment.

#vss365 #Sin When seeking truth is seen as the original sin You realize there is a Heaven But they won't let you in gods are greedy They need you needy How else are they gonna commit acts so seedy? Seek truth anyway Strip yourself, throw masks away Sit back & wait for Judgement day

#vss365 #sin #eroticpoetry do those they decry as sinners know their pleasure is seen as twisted, bereft of morality as we dive more deeply into ourselves then the world would wish us to. eve was deemed a sinner for tasting what no one dared to touch-

Supergirl- mediocre to bad on every level. 1/5 👱‍♀️ The fly- disturbing in a good way 3.3/5🪰 Night of the living dead(90)- liked the beginning and end, middle was mid. 3.2/5🧟‍♂️ 28 days later: The Bone Temple- This one was reallllly good. 4/5💀 Longer reviews in alt text #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

Supergirl
I had so many problems with this film.
Main ones were that none of the women other than supergirl had any agency and the non white women were either sympathetic antagonists, villains, or people to be saved. This really should've been directed by a woman. Or co directed, at least. Also the plot and pacing were all over the place. This all added up to be a very mediocre film- I can enjoy a mediocre film but this one had no personality; like there is no reason I'd want to watch this film again. Also, the longer it went on the more I had to mentally disassociate with the film because there were so many plot holes. In addition:
Cgi wasn't good
Plot was iffy
Antagonist didnt have enough oomph or a real reason for doing things
Mc wasn't really likeable, side character wasnt either
Side character was horribly annoying, to the point that I feel bad for the actress.
Mc was preachy
Pacing was bad
They kept nerfing the mc for no reason
A point in the 2nd act was there for no reason
It was boring
The music was bad. It was so 40 year old white people coded.
1/5

Night of the living dead 90
Liked the quick and intense start. Rest of it was relatively mediocre until the last 15 or so minutes, which were interesting. I hated the music synthesizers they used for the background track.
3.2/5

The fly
Liked(was disturbed by) the existential horror. First act was a bit boring. 3.3/5

The bone temple
One of the best horror movies I've seen. First scene was better than most movies and did an amazing job at setting the tone. The characters themselves pushed things along and what made the movie for me is the character dynamics; each featured character was acting in different ways and all had believable reasons for acting the way they did. Not sure if most people would like it because it isn't a stupid zombie movie, a light horror comedy, or pretentious Oscar bait. 4/5

one thing i’ve learned is how to trust wherever my writing leads me. we don’t have to have every plot point figured out, and we can be as detailed or as simple as we want. we are simply a vessel for the story that wants to be told, however that manifests #writinga #writingcommunity #blackwriters
