question for the #writingcommunity: is there a distinction between the fanfiction writing communities & non-fanfiction writing communities on here? i want to make sure i’m tagging my different projects right 🫣 #saturnian.creations #blackwriter

Okay folks of the #WritersCommunity, I have an interesting indie marketing prompt challenge... Give us your elevator pitch, for yourself! What is your author brand? How would you sell yourself?

artists! post your sketch vs your final! 💞 #oc #digitalart #artsky #doodle #characterdesign #blackartist #saturnian.creations

a sketched doodle of a humanoid femme done in green pencil. they are wearing an off the shoulder sweater and a pair of leggings, and their hair is styled in a large afro.

the same doodle, now colored with line art. the character has brown skin and dark brown hair. their sweater is a dark teal green, and their leggings are a dark grey. they are now also wearing a pair of round, oversized glasses on their face.

nurturing had always come easily to hands raised to care for bodies other than our own our vessel became a tool to care for outsiders. autumn comes and energy dims perhaps it is finally time to let these hands tend to our own wounds for a change #vss365 #nurture #poetry #saturnian.creation

"Momentum is stalling. How do you get noticed?" If you're only posting your work and expecting people to notice you, you are only doing 20% of the work 80% is asking about someone else's day. Sharing their work. Telling them happy birthday. Dont get metrics corpo brainrot.

one thing i’ve learned is how to trust wherever my writing leads me. we don’t have to have every plot point figured out, and we can be as detailed or as simple as we want. we are simply a vessel for the story that wants to be told, however that manifests #writinga #writingcommunity #blackwriters

did our first workout (not a warm up/cool down combo) in months today. we cried during and we’re moving through a lot of heavy emotions in the afterwards. the last 3-4 years has been a journey in relearning my body and what its limits are and it feels like the journey has come almost full circle

channelled drawing from this evening. poem in alt text. #channeledart #blackartist #poet

a one line drawing channeled by aquarian. the background is a pale lavender, and the line is drawn in a bluer, slightly more saturated indigo. there is a poem written on portions of the lines; the first part at the bottom, trailing upwards, and the second part in the upper middle spiraling downwards. there are darker, more saturated lines outlining a few curves across the drawing.

a watermark with their name, the date and spiral drawing is superimposed over the drawing, transparent to allow for viewer visibility.

the poem reads:
tell them of what approaches/hazy blue love/ and life-/ joyous and sweet -

do/ you/ remember the taste/ of laughter/ between/ our lips/ as our love/ intwines/ once again/ and we promise with whispered breath that our souls shall never part,/ not ever.

slender hands dance across my skin.
the warmth of the pillows are no substitute for the heat heat of your body against mine but i make do for now. soft gasps arise as gentle fingers caress skin that will sometimes burn out of want for the touch of a lover. tonight the ache is no more than a soft hum, placated by the feeling of my fingers sliding…..

“…this unrelenting insistence on Black publicness makes it easy to overlook the complex power of our quiet and vulnerable… this is why I love images of Black people… freed from the responsibility to produce collective absolvement and inspiration.” #bookquote #book #quoteoftheday #blacksky #softlife

a page from “mounted: on horses, blackness and liberation” by bitter kalli. the text reads:

“The image of the horse—in visual art, in archives— sometimes seem irretrievably bound up with a mythos of masculinity and war, the imperative of action. the back of the horse is so often the site for the most scripted discursive struggles about who we can be.

In his book ‘The Sovereignty of Quiet,’ Kevin Quashie writes that Black culture is often reductively identified with an idea of loud, public resistance. The Olympians with their fists in the air, the Black Lives Matter protesters, the civil rights protesters, the teenagers marching for safety they shouldn’t have to demand. Quashie writes that this unrelenting insistence on Black publicness makes it easy to overlook the complex power of our quiet and vulnerable moments. I think this is why I love images of Black people doing the everyday, freed from the responsibility to produce collective absolvement and inspiration.” (pg. 136)

Daily bunny no.3434 missed the show

A bunny looks at a large terrarium, with plants and a small pool of water. Beside the pool is a note saying "On holiday", which the bunny looks at with confusion. Behind the bunny is a fish tank, and the fish take notice of a green lizard crawling across the wall.
