I still think the only reason he's so enamored by this is that TRIUMPH sounds a lot like TRUMP.

Canada got offered a trillion-dollar deal with EU. Meanwhile, the US is arguing over whether FBI agents can have sex with dogs or not… Happy now?! The. Trump. Effect. 😎✨

It's hardly the biggest tragedy, but is skim milk getting almost impossible to find lately? Is this some kind of MAHA shenanigan?

The thing is, unlike with normal corporate raiders, he just doesn't care about ratings. Like Bezos and the Wapo, it was bought to please his ego. They have so much money from other sources, profitability just doesn't matter to them.

Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer should resign their leadership positions as soon as possible. Their failure to so much as endorse Mamdani laid bare layers of incompetence. They are why Democrats have completely failed to combat Trump. The sooner they are replaced, the better.

Given all the hints that he realizes he's not long for this world, what if the White House Grand Ballroom is actually being constructed as a Grand Mausoleum, a la the Palace of the Sun in Pyongyang? Is he mad enough to do that?

The remarks weren’t “about Charlie Kirk,” they were about how this administration is using Kirk’s death as an excuse to shut down critics … and they responded by proving him completely correct.

I just got confirmation that National History Day, a program that does more to ignite K-12 students' love of history, learning, and yes, even the United States than anything else I've ever seen, had all its funding cut yesterday by the DOGE-axe at the NEH - including for this year's ongoing contest.

I interned at the Voice of America in 1988 and saw first hand how trusted radio news could break through the Iron Curtain. Apparently with the effective shutdown of VoA, countering tyranny is no longer what our country stands for. This only pleases people like Putin and Lukashenko.

The measles outbreak in Texas is reminding me of the public letter Roald Dahl wrote about losing his daughter to measles in 1962, just before the vaccine was publicly available.
Excerpt from a public letter Roald Dahl wrote encouraging people to vaccinate their children.

Olivia, my eldest daughter, caught measles when she was seven years old. As the illness took its usual course I can remember reading to her often in bed and not feeling particularly alarmed about it. Then one morning, when she was well on the road to recovery, I was sitting on her bed showing her how to fashion little animals out of coloured pipe-cleaners, and when it came to her turn to make one herself, I noticed that her fingers and her mind were not working together and she couldn’t do anything.

“Are you feeling all right?” I asked her.

“I feel all sleepy,” she said.

In an hour, she was unconscious. In twelve hours she was dead.

The measles had turned into a terrible thing called measles encephalitis and there was nothing the doctors could do to save her. That was twenty-four years ago in 1962, but even now, if a child with measles happens to develop the same deadly reaction from measles as Olivia did, there would still be nothing the doctors could do to help her.

On the other hand, there is today something that parents can do to make sure that this sort of tragedy does not happen to a child of theirs. They can insist that their child is immunized against measles. I was unable to do that for Olivia in 1962 because in those days a reliable measles vaccine had not been discovered. Today a good and safe vaccine is available to every family and all you have to do is to ask your doctor to administer it.

Trump plays the same game every time. Take a perfectly normal situation -- say, Canadian-American trade -- totally fuck it up, return it to normalcy... And then take claim for "fixing" it.

Sure it's hilarious that Trump 'forgot' to place his tiny hand on the bible at his swearing-in. But in four years, he'll claim he wasn't officially sworn in... And will run again.
