Britain faces a food security crisis for which we're 'desperately underprepared', claim 150 experts. Read my take on how we got here and what we can learn from our European neighbours to fix it. lnkd.in/eVeKvhMDhttp...

Furious French farmers were right about scorching summers. We must study them.
Britain faces the worst food security crisis in decades with even more farmers set to go bankrupt. How did no one see this coming?

As the locus of British blackness shifts from the Caribbean to Africa, the formations and politics of racialisation, racism and anti-racism are changing. Football at the forefront of this.

One of the saddest things about the Infantino-Trump red card controversy is what it does to Folarin Balogun's story. He chose to represent the USA over England and Nigeria. A choice that seemed to embody football at its best: expanding our sense of belonging rather than narrowing it.

The Torygraph sum it up nicely with the headline "Hungarians tired of Orbán, not his policies". Perhaps its 'Orbánism without the Orbán' with whom the right shall continue its love affair. www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/202... 8/8

Today, Badenoch argues that Tisza's success was a win for the centre-right against populism (of which she's never been a part) completely ignoring the fact that all the Hungarian left/progressive parties stood down to increases the chances of ousting Orbán. 7/8

Although every Member State rejected the renegotiation and showed surprising unity during the Brexit Wars (2016-2019) Orbán was clearly the most sympathetic from the get-go. But even he didn't want Freedom of Movement to Britain removed for Hungarians. 3/8

Yes the IHT changes damage farming, but let's not forget it was also: - chaos with replacing BPS payments after Brexit, - confusion over new agri-environment schemes, - climate change with over a storm a month, for the past 18 months - and last but not least, supermarkets ripping off farmers!

One thing that's not gonna happen is the state paying you directly to produce more food. That's blatant 'state aid' breaching WTO regs. It should be the role of the market, but that's failing as you can't grow anything due to almost a storm a month for the past year and a half.

Do you want more money from Government? Well obviously, but this works one of two ways: 1.) More money as direct subsidies. They been cut every year since Brexit. But would you want it all back the way it was?
