These ratio outcome variables are a plague in the sciences. If your analysis treats 1/2 and 10/20 as the same evidence, then you have discarded uncertainty in the outcome. Model what you measure, not what you construct. Use the denominator as an exposure instead.

I think accessibility of the work (good and bad) has enabled the bad faith arguments. 20 years ago it was hard to find someone's dissertation or preprint that never go published. Now it's trivially easy.

What's wild about all these pictures and videos is that I've been to the National Mall on sweltering weekdays in the summer and it's always busy. Tons of families and tour groups. People must be actively avoiding this.

Why not? You can't tell me there is a better way to do a histogram of three categories!

A 3D histogram of the famous iris dataset made using the R package ggcube! Specifically the horizontal axis is Sepal Length. The depth axis is arranged by species, and the height is the count of rows. virginica is blue, versicolor is green and setosa is reddish pink. The sides are shaded because 3D!

Because it's 3D is real, real hard to read. A faceted, 2D histogram would be so much better. But it's fine!

Packed classroom with purportedly 4x the attendance of 2024. Not as raucous as others, but went to 10:15. Strong Anti ICE sentiment, but we somehow managed to pass resolutions to both reform and abolish ICE 😵‍💫. Given the rules it was difficult to point out that these are mutually exclusive.

Here’s the deal, they captured my face standing outside of my kid’s preschool in a high-viz vest. The database is going to be so big it’ll be useless.
