![An iPad screenshot of a now-deleted thread in the bot’s support server on Discord. I (Clipper) am conversing with a bot admin, Stqlth.
[Thread title] New icon for Birthday Bot
[C] Who made the new icon for the Birthday Bot? Is it AI-generated?
[S] yea ive struggled to find an artist to make me a new logo so I threw nano banana at it and it made a pretty good logo
[C] What was wrong with the old one?
[S] idk, i made it in photoshop in 5 minutes 6 years ago
[S] i wanted something new
[S] something more official
[S] do you not like it?
[C] I don’t, no. 😅
[C] I’ve added the bot to several art-focused Discord servers and most of them have rules against the use of AI-generated imagery. If I continue to use the bot, it would be a violation of the servers’ AI policies. I don’t want to have to remove the bot.
[S] you moderate people’s/bot’s pfp? lmao
[S] tbh do what you gotta do but im not changing the logo for our server one of 600,000, if you are able to make a better logo I’d consider using it
[S] but ive hired multiple people in the last two years and they haven’t made good logos so
[C] I’m sorry, I can’t support any entity that uses generative AI. I cannot in good conscience continue to use this bot.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:erbbtcw5pqhjgjrhxgaw6nma/bafkreibk5fc3aue2gdtxaulkv2uye5jvqsjkcv6gdjpubvm4v6lup4eoou)
