Comic book timelines: how do they work?

Panel 1

This panel is set in 1941!

We’re in a classroom at Riverdale High. Mr. Weatherbee is at the front of the class, near the chalkboard, which is green. The word DETENTION is written on the board in white chalk. We can see Archie sitting at a desk near Weatherbee. A calendar on the wall reads MAY 1941

MR. WEATHERBEE, with anger in his face: Unless you want to spend the rest of your life in detention, I suggest you change your attitude!

ARCHIE, upset at the fact that he’s in trouble: Gosh, you bet, Mr. Weatherbee!

We see a little bit more of the bed. There’s a black spot on the bedding. We can’t see clearly what’s on the bed but Cheryl’s eyes are popping out of her head.

FUN FACT: The original version of this comic did not feature the Spider surviving the inferno, as seen in panel 4! After a note from Archie's CEO, we added the spider scurrying away and made him into a recurring background character!
