There's no need to overreact.

Bite Sized Archie #20 - Fanning the Flames by Ron Cacace and Vincent Lovallo

Panel 1:

We are at Cheryl Blossom's house! It’s a fancy mansion. Cheryl is in pajamas (fancy!) She's just stepped inside her bedroom doorway. She’s on the left side of the panel, her dresser and bed are on the right side of the panel & room. She’s got her arms up in the air, she’s tired but ready for sleep.

CHERYL: Time for bed!

Panel 2:

We see a little bit more of the bed. There’s a black spot on the bedding. We can’t see clearly what’s on the bed but Cheryl’s eyes are popping out of her head.

This sound effect is right above the black dot on the bed “SKKRT”

Panel 3:

Extreme close-up on a goofy looking purple spider waving at Cheryl.

Panel 4:

Cheryl is standing in front of her home which is engulfed in flames. She’s smirking at the camera (like the classic meme of the girl smiling in front of the burning building.) The spider can be seen skittering away from the ruins in the background.

FUN FACT: The original version of this comic did not feature the Spider surviving the inferno, as seen in panel 4! After a note from Archie's CEO, we added the spider scurrying away and made him into a recurring background character!
