My thirst has been quenched with this #portlamdica White-cheeked Tern off Fujairah. Smaller than the accompanying Common Terns, slight different flight action (yet to be formalised), darker upperparts n rump, thick smudge through secondaries on underwing and dusky belly markings #ornithology

Explored some new areas today , for me anyway and found a vocalising Lesser spot Woody 😀. The expected Firecrests were singing at several sites including two associating with the Faversham Pallas’s Warbler #kentbirding

A fantastic morning on the patch, this crippling male Red backed shrike hopped out in front of me on fox hill down, Langdon cliffs. Later whilst watching it with a small crowd, a female Red foot came over low and continued North, picked up by Paul Holt. #kentbirding #ukrarebirds

One of the things I love about Bluesky and the Feeds function, you see stuff you wouldn’t see on Twitter, pretty much ever. And I love seeing active bird clubs using social media so well like this. I’m sure they were active on TW but I just didn’t see it.

With a steady increase in birders coming across to BlueSky, I've had a first go at setting up a feed for Essex birding - please search for the feed, pin and like it! Anything tagged with #essexBirding will get picked up, and flow through into the UK birding feed.
