Right now, a 96 mile interfaith pilgrimage of clergy is marching to protest 🧊 “detention” centers like Adelanto in the Mojave Desert. It’s an arduous hike through mountains & rough terrain in 100+ degree weather. It ends Tuesday in Los Angeles. To support this group, go to lasacredresistance.org.

Of all the harm this administration has done to US science, today's proposed changes to the way federal grants are awarded and administered is the most damaging yet. The text of the federal register document is impenetrably tedious by design, so here's an excellent summary of what it says.

I wrote about the topsy-turvy un-realism of fascism and the ignore-ance of its comfortable enablers—who by their very use of the term "nonviolent" ignore an already brutally violent situation, and demand perpetual sacrificial performances to secure their support. www.the-reframe.com/are-you-brav...

The national Silent Quaker Walking Vigil for Peace will take place in London on Saturday 19 September 2026, the weekend closest to the United Nations International Day of Peace.

The vigil has grown out of conversations and planning amongst Friends from across Britain, supported by the national Faith in Action Team, and seeks to offer a visible, prayerful Quaker witness for peace in our current times.

The walk will begin and end with Meeting for Worship and will take place silently and at a gentle pace. A circular route is planned, beginning and ending in Victoria Embankment Gardens, with a pause midway for worship, likely outside St Martin-in-the-Fields. Final details are still being confirmed as permissions are arranged with Westminster Council and the police.

The vigil is intended to be family friendly, and children and young people are warmly welcome.

Friends intending to come are encouraged to sign up via: quakervigilforpeace@gmail.com

That is so lovely and prescient and true, @nnedi.bsky.social Loved The Death of the Author 🙏❤️📚
In the last days of humanity, humans cultivated a growing disdain for their own soul. Many didn't even believe in the sanctuary of the creative process anymore, they wanted to eliminate it and usher in automation to do the work. But it didn't go the way humans wanted or expected; creativity meant experiencing, processing, understanding human joy and pain. For a robot to create a human, humanity had to ensure that a piece of themselves could live in us.
