Interesting survey found on Eurogamer. Over 320.000 votes. Still only 29 % who go strictly digital. 22 % die-hard physical. But the rest is also still in the market for discs and cards. Basically confirmation that you can straight up block every "physical is dead" bot comment.

Sony ends physical production in 2028. The bomb we hoped they were smart enough to never trigger. Discoverability, dead. Ownership, dead. Legal preservation, dead. Micro publishers, dead. A billion $ market, and they just throw it away.

The real question now is, if consoles are just going to be walled garden PCs with inferior hardware and no disc drive, why would you ever buy one? Games run worse and cost more on consoles. Backwards compatibility is iffy. No mods. You pay the manufacturer to use your own internet. So... why?
