🚨 URGENT BULLETIN TO ALL NASHVILLE SICKOS 🚨 If you see a painted bike box at any intersection, that intersection needs to have a No Right on Red sign to prevent cars from pulling through the bike box. If there is not a NROR sign, Hub it and Metro will fix it quickly!

Sidewalks that dump pedestrians into the street for the benefit of turning cars is hostile design. It shouldn't be allowed design in any proper city. 90° corners direct behavior and force motorists to slow their speed and pay attention. This is how you create safe streets.

Sort of insane fact about how broken US urban planning is—America now spends more building *just the lights for roads and highways* than on all subways & ground mass transit combined Spending on roadway *pavement* is 18x transit spending

Bikes move people. Personal vehicles create congestion. This image is a perfect demonstration of that.

Right to repair is an important subject to me. I believe that simple and serviceable designs are a valuable ebike ownership trait. Motors like the BBSHD require few specialized tools and most you probably already have in your tool box. Transportation independence starts on the work bench.
Taking apart the motor face to clean out some old oils and grease

using very simple The old toothbrushes and rags

Hi, do you bike with kids on a cargo/family bike in the winter? I’d love to update my winter bike clothing guide to mention this but don’t have kids, so I’m soliciting help! Please let me know if you’d be willing to provide some perspective/experience and I’m happy to credit you on the guide.

nope! But we pay instructors $30/hr base w/incentive for LCI qualification at $45/hr, + bonus hourly rate for language skills. We are nowhere near full time status on instruction (yet!) but working hard to make it possible.

I'd definitely say that our Open Shop hours & bicycle refurbishment program can be a distraction to our main mission of bicycle skills education! But since we're passionate about *good* bikes vs bicycle shaped objects, we've got to have a way to fix them. Have had many folk ask if we do repairs -

We worked with the Mayor's Office of New Americans (formed in 2014, replaced by "advisory council" in 2026) for one of their events a few years ago that featured a block party outside of the East Library. It was really good! That was meant for targeted audience. Would have thought "sister city"

If you have more kids walking/biking to school, they'll have more reason to hire crossing guards. (Chicken/egg dilemma eh?) MNPS does not hire x-ing ppl FYI that's MNPD. Interesting article here www.wkrn.com/news/local-n... ^kj
