My oldest had his friends over for some table top fun yesterday. We’ve been doing melon seeds in the backyard for a while now. All different kinds have grown and now we’ve ended with some melons that seem to share traits and also attract and addict our dog. He is absolutely addicted to them. It feels like a Simpson’s episode.

Batman in the theater was the first time I saw a completely crowded theater, the first time I saw a large group of people collectively get violent (the projector malfunctioned), and the first time I saw an entire theater stand up and cheer afterwards. I still think about that experience.

I recently found out that project x is no longer about a boy rescuing his chimpanzee friend but instead about a boy throwing a party. I’m embarrassed by how long I watched this new project x before I started to realize something was amiss. There would be no animal friend rescue.

Dahlia is at her cross country race. Last race everyone followed a tractor. There was no tractor this time. The girls managed to run the right way but the boys all ran the wrong way and are having to start over. The markers on the field and the girls doing it correctly was not enough for the boys.

Max is off to a “college fair”. I’ve had to remind him that we live in a red state, there will be a lot of military recruiters and “bible” schools. He is still excited. I hope it goes most excellently. Slight aside, got to watch Max explain to his friend how to use a lint roller. I enjoyed that.
