BUT, Wood’s experience helped inspire Working Women United, a public speak-out on workplace harassment, and a new language for identifying a problem women had long experienced but struggled to name. Anyhoo, this is why Women’s and Gender Studies is important. Talking to you, Cornell.

After her denied appeal, Wood went to Cornell’s Human Affairs Program, where Farley, Susan Meyer, and Karen Sauvigné helped her find feminist lawyers to continue fighting the denial. The women began organizing around her experience, but Wood’s case still failed.

Also, is Georgia really a "red state" when Andre Dickens' predecessor is about to be dragged across the finish line and become the first Black woman governor in American history?
A group of 15 Democratic mayors governing in Republican-dominated states are building a new political operation that aims to influence national politics as a center-left alternative to both the MAGA movement and what they describe as "far-left dysfunction" from groups like the Democratic Socialists of America.

The organization -- Blue Cities/Red States -- is led by Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb and will launch next week in Miami with a kickoff event hosted by its mayor, Eileen Higgins. The founding mayors lead cities including Atlanta, Jacksonville, Boise, Tulsa and Memphis -- governing more than 7 million Americans across 11 red and purple states, according to a memo for the new coalition.

Without reading the article I knew Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens would be part of the group trying to explicity draw a false equivalency between fascists and the DSA. I would be right. (the other mayors in Miami, Jacksonville, Boise, Tulsa and Memphis make more sense, but still, incredible instincts)
