Regarding the 79% complete number: I ran through the numbers of the August jail monitor's report. 3.9% of the provisions have been marked as "substantial compliant," 69.9% as "partial compliance," 19.9% as "non compliance" and 6.4% as "not rated."

At the first press conference, Council member Kelsea Bond read off a resolution that will reintroduced at the end of the meeting apologizing to members of the Reemerging ACDC task force for, essentially, wasting their time now that the detention center is likely to continue existing as a jail.

Beltline Rail PASSES! 🙏 Now, we have until the end of January 2027 for the Mayor’s Office, MARTA, and Beltline Inc to develop an implementation plan for all 22 miles of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline trail.

Yesterday, I introduced legislation affirming the Atlanta City Council’s support for Beltline Rail, and requesting the Mayor’s administration to work with MARTA and Atlanta Beltline, Inc to put together an implementation and funding plan for rail on the Beltline.

Bond’s & @atldemsoc.bsky.social ‘s work pushing back on the massive 30-year TIF/TAD extension was pivotal to mayor cutting it back by ~half by omitting the Beltline & Fulton opting out (but it is still bad). Probably the best-organized opposition in the city since the anti-CopCity movement.
