I just love learning. I first found ceramicist Donna Bloye because of her piece "Things I Learned from God and Granny," later realizing I had seen her win Pottery Throwdown. She recently launched a screenprinting course, and I was able to use her techniques to preserve my Granny's memory.

NYPD keeps insisting it’s not working with ICE in the narrowest scope of not literally participating in kidnappings but then goes silent when people present evidence of ICE using their precincts/parking lots, of NYPD doing crowd control. Big difference in technical and de facto assistance.

The supposed privileges and protections are flimsy, as we've all witnessed in recent years, and would be better achieved through strong unions with broad coalitions - broader than just the select few deemed worthy of TT & tenure. Tenure is a carrot to justify or protect a lot of serious problems.

I'm not sure how, even within a single department, a new Asst. Prof under pressure to publish at breakneck speed and bring in hundreds of thousands in grants can find common ground with a deadwood Full who last published in the 80s, got tenure with 5 articles and has never won a grant.
