This would change how I consume news, honestly. This is how academic papers have worked for years. Now, those per article prices can be wild, but it has been a life saver when I need a specific citation, but not a year long subscription to The Journal of Random Extremely Niche Thing.

While I am always trying to bridge the gap, my approach is my approach. Honed in highschool and 12 years of university and it works, for me, but it doesn't land for her. Can't be accommodated without a diagnosis from a list, and so she feels very alone. I can see why kids would just check out.

This thread resonated with me. My daughter is in first year. Never wrote an exam in high school (a covid cohort thing??). They did everything on their Chromebooks, so her printing is an atrocity. She cares deeply about her classes and the material, she just has no tools or skills to engage with it.

When I was way older than I should have been, I was making a cake and it said to mix by hand. My Gramma came into the kitchen and I was elbow deep in batter and despite having three science degrees, I will forever be the family hand mixer.
