“He said consumers in Australia had much cheaper coffee than in European countries” Which ones, mate. Because that’s not my experience (unless you’re drinking your coffee on the terrace at a tourist site) www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10...

Nation's love affair with coffee on shaky ground as cost of living bites
The way Australians drink coffee is changing, with more and more switching to home brews while cafes are "running on a shoestring".

National Bogong Moth Day would be a worth public holiday every year. Certainly better than having a day off for the Melbourne Cup!
Top Section
• Visuals: A line of small, abstract cartoon figures and moths are marching from left to right on a patch of green grass against a light blue sky.
	• The figure on the far left holds a tall pole with a large moth model on top, resembling a parade float.
	• One character wears a full moth costume.
	• Other characters carry small signs. One sign reads "THANK A MOTH" and another reads "SAY NO TO PORCH LIGHTS."
	• A character toward the right holds a green flag that says "BOGONG."
• Text: Speech bubbles at the top read: "Surely bogong moth migration season should have a public holiday and some sort of parade or festival... Bogong Moth day!"
Bottom Section
• Visuals: The background is a solid off-white. In the bottom right corner, a single cartoon moth is holding a smartphone, seemingly reading the text.
• Text: The main caption reads: "Remember - these moths are not an inconvenience they are a blessing. EVERY MOTH IS PRECIOUS. Perhaps they are a sign that all is not lost..."

The whole iced coffee at job interviews thing? The first time I saw it I thought it meant arriving with iced coffee each for the entire panel and thought it was rather presumptuous that the panel members even drank iced coffee.

being so fr when I say that transmisogyny has put feminism back like 50 years

seravph
what i thought we had distanced ourselves from was the reduction of women to vaginas and wombs and the ability to bear children. i thought we had progressed past 'dresses are for women and pants are for men. i thought we progressed past the idea that someone is less of a woman if she does not adhere strictly to beauty standards. i thought we progressed past the idea that naturally being comfortable adhering to highly feminine standards is vulgar. but i (sarcastically) guess no one could have predicted that trans-exclusive feminism would be the downfall of all the progress we've made

Yes... you may have to do some real, uncomfortable reflection to do it though. You may have to see when you and your male friends centre yourselves in conversations and don't even *notice* how much less women are speaking. If you don't see the casual every day entitlement, you won't be able to help.

I used to love Cue, but for me it was a combination of three things: They changed style to something I didn’t like. Price (especially for something I liked less and less) I started working in a much more informal environment (even before Covid) www.abc.net.au/news/2026-09...

From fashion forward to failure: What went wrong for Cue?
Cue had a reputation for reinvention, with the proof hanging in the wardrobes of generations of women. But what inspired the start of the brand in 1968 has led to its demise.

I don't care how 'buff' he was, WTF, News Corp!? This man murdered his 4 and 6-year-old children. They are dead! The family friend who made this comment also said: 'If he has done this, there’s no excuse for it, never any excuse for that, ever.' Why don't you put that quote up front!
Heading from the Mercury e-bulletin says 'True Crime Australia' and then there's a picture for the first story of Balinese police and maybe a doctor, looks like a crime scene, plus an inset image of a laughing Caucasian man with a goatee. The headline for this story reads: 'He was not the buff dude': Friends' shock before Aussie dad, kids found dead in Bali. Then the text under that reads: An Australian man's friend say they barely recognised him months before he allegedly killed his children in Bali, as it's revealed his wife had previously filed for divorce. READ MORE.
