Actually scary that Europe can't provide this by themselves. As a German (though living in the UK) I'm just angry how Merkel convinced Germany for a decade that Russia was not that evil. When I pointed that out to my German friends that Putin only understands force I was called a "war monger."

I debunk dodgy science from time to time. It's amazing how many journos fall for it or perhaps want to believe it. In this case it's a lot about wanting it to be true as it's such a compelling story. For that reason I really love Neflix's Apple-Cider-Vinegar. People just wanted it to be true.

It's depressing how many here have blindly amplified it. Chadbourn has now deleted his viral post and others who have amplified that. As a German I was curious if there was any effect on AfD activity. Ironically a guy in Germany who runs a few AI slop pages debunked it first.

I found her style entertaining once per month at best. I've hidden the Opinion Section as soon as the Guardian app had given me to the option to customise it. They are just predictable either because of their style or political alignment (Corbynisa, etc) but I guess it's comforting for the readers.

(found by: bsky.app/profile/raph... ) then "enhanced" by the MEP with "if that's true" and then turned into a fact by the Chadbourne (as he's done many times in the past to get virality). Interestingly, gemini also de-bunked that straight away.

but of course we all want to have this come true, don't we? As a German I was looking for evidence but claiming AfD traffic is down is just wishful thinking, falling for an account which always jumps to conclusions and falling for noise with our confirmation bias. Happens even in science!

Just done a google image search and according to gemini from a German OSINT account. Gemini also tells me the axis look like X's analytics tools. Perhaps @shayan86.bsky.social can help? It's one of these cases where people of course want it to be true. But don't think there is data yet available.

Having campaigned against brexit for years on the ground those who are left now are mostly technocrats or academics who have zero motivation to campaign but basically running the pro EU-movement as a dry academic endeavour. Some were quite edgy then (see Bueltemann) but long gone. Few exceptions.
