My latest box-art paint job for Warmachine - Fanevania Ashmael ✨ The Keeper of Whispers has been given a spooky makeover for the October mini crate ☺️ Very much enjoyed painting the deep red (one of my fave colours) contrasted with the pale skin along with some dark eyes.

Fanevania Ashmael - Warmachine’s monthly mini crate mini for October 2026, painted by me.

it's a v/h/s sequel so obviously it's not stealing headlines, but a major hollywood studio adapting THE creative commons property is not a trivial matter and could have huge ramifications down the line, especially if corps get free license to "remix" CC content without paying the original artists

hey why is no one talking about the licensing situation with this A24/SCP thing? are they releasing it under the same cc-by-sa license every SCP project is required to have? are they betting creative commons won't hold up in court? seems like the kind of question a journalist should look into idk

SCP Foundation Movie Coming To Theaters In 2027 With A24 Distributing

An SCP Foundation movie is coming to theaters in 2027 via A24. Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios announced the project earlier this year.

The (denim) cloth trows are ready for the toothbrush splattering! But I want to admire them like this for a wee bit, because I really, reeeeally love block-colour painted minis with nice crisp dark lining in the recesses. Mmmmm hmmmm. Get 'em here 👇 kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows

Four bean-shaped cloth creatures, with their eyes visible through a hood opening like a zipped up parka. One trow has their arms folded over a walking stick, the others are holding crooked sticks. One is waving. They are painted in two shades of blue-grey, with pale beige faces and arms. Their stoney bases are a slightly different pale beige but will be given a brown wash and mossy texture after the splatter coat, so won't look so similar to the figures themselves.

I am withdrawing my paper proposal from Warhammer Conference 2026. My reasoning can be found below. In a way, this has been one of the most stressful decisions of my academic career. In one way, the answer was clear to me since I found out about this.

To Dr. Ryder:

I am deeply saddened to do this, but I must withdraw my paper proposal for this year’s Warhammer Conference. I have been attending the conference every year since its inception, and as you are aware, this is the premiere conference in the field where I am currently writing my doctoral thesis.

My withdrawal is based your signature of the open letter in support of Nathan Cofnas, which I feel misleadingly frames his suspension as an issue of academic free speech, where as Ghent University has stated that their reasoning was based on shoddy work ethics and work that would bring university’s reputation into disrepute, i.e. “race realism” and other frankly racist and dubiously scientific works. I believe that many well-meaning scholars have been misled by primarily making this a case of academic free speech.

Moreover, Nathan Cofnas was the instigator for a mass harassment campaign of dubious merits that led to the death of Professor Jason Arday, which I find disgusting, horrible and unforgivable. I am unwilling to associate with anyone who shows support for Cofnas under the guise of academic free speech. The far right have shown their capability to use free speech as a smokescreen to harass, target, and demonize whole groups of people, and this is just another example of it. To see “academic free speech” being used as a reason to support this odious man is unacceptable to me. Without speculating on your motives, I have to listen to my own principles in this matter.

I’m going to be presenting a paper at the next Games Workshop Research Day in Manchester later this year! Even better than that though are the other speakers lined up with some fascinating topics. Not to mention the key note from Tuomas Pirinen. Can’t wait!

I know Inq28 sort of took over this space but I do wonder why, with the ease of scaling up 3D prints these days, we haven't seen an Inq54 renaissance yet. Maybe JB's En Garde will put 54mm/1:35 back in the centre stage. These guys here seem to be using Airfix 1:32 Anzacs.

Daughters of Persephone: Dreadnought Libera. I like the chunky old RT style ones. Modern ones are cool also, but look like the setting when its taking itself more "seriously". The older ones capture the idea of a tech culture gone odd, while winking at the audience. #WarhammerCommunity #Nerdlings

Illustration based on the rogue trader style dreadnought (stumpy quasi humanoid). Done in the colours of my homebrew chapter 'The Daughters of Persphone' ie a cyan/turquoise with black an bone accents.
