Ich habe hier zusammengefasst, wie die etablierten Parteien entscheidend zur Stärkung radikal rechter Parteien wie der AfD beigetragen haben. Auch als Reaktion auf den Wahlausgang gestern sehen wir wieder die genau gleichen Narrative aus Politik und Medien. Man bleibt im Teufelskreis gefangen.

Die Ablehnung des Begriffs greift ineinander mit der Ablehnung des Konzepts Queerness, das man diskreditiert als aufdringlich, künstlich erzeugt, übertrieben. Das Ziel: Konformismus erzwingen, Sichtbarkeit begrenzen. Anderssein ist nur akzeptabel, wenn es ausreichend Heteronormativität nachahmt. 1/

Happy to hear that Lukas Dhont's newest film 'Coward' will be in the official competition selection at the festival in Cannes. I haven't seen it yet but had the honour of working with the production as a language consultant. The script alone was riveting, I'm certain the film will be superb.

Postcolonial studies, gender studies and similar disciplines provide very precise terms and tools to expose and dissect those made-up scandals of politicians not being black enough, athletes not being female enough etc. Which is why we need them, and why the reactionary and far-right fears them.

There is no "science-wide replication crisis" because every word in that phrase carries unfounded assumptions. 🧵 1. There is no evidence that progress has generally stalled in the sciences. Also, no one has actually tried to estimate replicability across fields.

Nach jeder Woche, in der andere Parteien eine weitere AfD-taugliche Idee in den Wahlkampf pusten (ausbürgern, abschieben, Grenze zu, Leistungen runter, Arbeitszwang), steigt der Balken der AfD in den Umfragen. Fast als gäbe es einen seit Jahren bekannten Zusammenhang, aus dem man lernen könnte.
