Hey Late Night Regina Bluesky… I'm soft launching tonight the 6,400 word monster I wrote about the potential baseball stadium. I need to test if the hyperlinks all work. Let me know if you spot typos. I still have another editing pass or two to do. #yqrcc queencityib.com/blog/2026/1/...

The Alberta 'separatist' movement is so clearly bought and paid for (or at the very least, willing to be). "The movement is selling itself as pro-American in hopes of securing a C$500 billion loan from the U.S. government that would help facilitate Alberta’s “seamless departure” from Canada."

Unaffordability. Unemployment. Job Losses. Human Rights Violations. Precarity. Homelessness. Ontario can't afford mass evictions! Friends, we know it is time to push back on Bill 60 and we need everyone to take this on, including cities across Ontario.
Alt 1: All images have a blue background. At the top, there are words in light gray reading "Unaffordability Unemployment Job Losses Homelessness." Below, large yellow text with a red shadow asks, "+Mass Evictions in Ontario?" Underneath this, a red octagonal shape resembling a stop sign contains the word "NO!" in white. At the bottom, the text "STOP BILL 60 PROTECT TENANTS" is displayed in yellow and white. The bottom corners feature two logos: on the left, the Encampment Justice Coalition logo, and on the right, a small emblem with the words "NO DEMOVICTIONS."

Tenants across Ontario have already won a first victory against the government’s anti-renter agenda, but we can’t stop until we #StopBill60. this isn’t over until the whole bill is completely defeated! EndAusterity.ca/bill-60 1/2
Alt: Rob Flack tweeted: “ Our government is not proceeding with consultations on potential changes to Ontario’s tenancy lease framework regarding month-to-month leases. We will continue to implement other common-sense reforms to strengthen the province’s rental housing market.

Full statement below:
Residents expect stability and predictability in Ontario’s rental market, and now is not the time to consider changes to this system. As such, we have decided not to proceed with consultations on potential changes to month-to-month leases.

Ontario will continue to implement common-sense reforms and strengthen the province’s rental housing market by restoring balance at the Landlord and Tenant Board, cracking down on abuse of the system, and encouraging new rental construction to make it easier for families to find a place to call home.”
