The EU generated ~186.5kg of packaging waste per person in 2022 - 36kg of it plastic. Today the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation enters application across all 27 Member States - setting binding reduction targets, reuse requirements and recyclability rules to finally bring that number down.
