MOSCOW, Sept 29 (Reuters) - One of Russia's largest developers, the Samolet Group, has committed a technical default on its BO-P20 series bonds, according to a statement from the National Settlement Depository (NSD).

"It was executed in an improper manner," the NRD reported.

Later, Samolet reported that it had transferred coupon payments to the National Settlement Depository (NSD) and fully redeemed the BO-P20 issue on September 28.

"Due to technical reasons, part of the funds were credited to the NSD account on September 29, 2026," Samolet said in a statement. "According to established procedures, the NSD will record the register the next business day after the funds are credited."

At the beginning of the year, Samolet, facing an increased debt burden and high interest rates, appealed to the government for state support, but it was denied. The company's largest creditors, Sberbank and VTB, expressed their willingness to help the company with debt servicing.

Kazakh investment company Fonte Capital Ltd acquired a 17.6% stake in Samolet in August 2026, and yesterday it was announced that it had reduced its stake in Samolet to less than 5%.
