The EU is pushing for significant deregulation, under the guise of "simplification". They are planning to chip away at one vital environmental law at a time. Once lost, these protections rarely return. Take Action: iwt.ie/what-we-do/hands-off-nature/ More info: handsoffnature.eu/

Fox hunting with hounds is barbaric and cruel. It has no place in modern Ireland. Please take two minutes to copy-and-paste a quick email to all those TDs who voted no to a ban last month. Everything you need is right here: ruralirelandagainstfoxhunting.wordpress.com/take-action-...

Did you know? Cubbing, or autumn hunting of young foxes trains hounds in advance of fox hunting season. This is necessesary for them to learn how to track the scent of the fox. It is a particularly cruel aspect of an already horrific practice.
A close-up image of a fluffy young fox cub looking straight at the viewer. The text reads: Cubbing (noun): The hunting of young foxes, especially as a means of training the hounds in autumn. Merriam-Webster dictionary.

This proposal could significantly change how environmental litigation works in Ireland — and who can afford to bring a case. Have your say.

Have Your Say on Access to Justice in Environmental Cases
The Consultation proposes the introduction a scale of fees for environmental judicial reviews provided for in the Planning and Development Act 2024. The scale of fees would be payable to successful applicants in certain environmental law judicial review cases, and the scale would have a cap of €100,000.

The idea "hunts will have to kill their hounds" if trail hunting is banned is absolute crap!

We just want to point out some facts. Why ban trail hunting? In trail hunting, hounds follow a pre-laid scent of animal urine or a dead animal. In reality, they often pick up the scent of live foxes and end up pursuing and killing them. 1/3
