I am thinking about adaptation & what I call the Tey Rule. Josephine Tey said the below in Daughter of Time. Adaptations must change as they’re different mediums - but keep the core of characters and themes. ‘THIS character wouldn’t do THIS murder’ & if they do, we lose the suspension of disbelief.
