The only solution to housing crises all across urban Europe is YIMBYism. In Berlin, in London, in Madrid, in Paris, the solution is to build more housing near the train, replacing lower-density buildings, railyards, factories, and clubs, and pair them with more tall office towers in city center.

More housing coming to Ballston. The office building and hotel on the south side of the street have been demolished, and they've started pile driving. They're starting demolition prep on the office building on the north side. Construction ongoing behind Harris Teeter and the Whole Foods apt.

People are going to clown on this but we need to remember that planning for local context is important: a city with Los Angeles, California’s semi-arid Mediterranean climate only gets sunshine ~300 days a year; so it’s important to make sure you can never ever find shade in the middle of the day.
