Quite possibly the biggest "That's part of the Alternate History" fans of Necessary Adjustments will need to swallow is the fact that because of the stupid way I chose to name the primary antagonist and then her husband as they appeared, the underlying plot of chapters 8 and now 9 is impossible.

IIRC the Turians call the first contact war "The Relay 314 incident" and their showing was a scout party who got lmaoed because they thought humans were indigenous to the planet they were found on and weren't expecting a counterattack from elsewhere. Then the council stepped in before it got ugly.
