What Cage has done for literally the past decade is exactly this, he finds a weird eccentric script by a first time filmmaker, signs on, his name brings in clout, he makes the film, and sometimes it's not very good. But it's still artistic as hell. This is why I *love* Cage.

"Decadence" isn't real, but to some extent 1991-2022 was a bunch of Western countries with nothing better to do scaring themselves like teenagers telling ghost stories around a campfire. The Japan Panic, the GWOT, even to a large extent the immigration "crises" all come out of that. So does this.
