Climate change is making extreme weather events more intense, frequent and long-lasting. "Extreme weather event attribution" studies identify the "fingerprint" of climate change on weather extremes Check out my latest video for the breakdown of this rapidly-evolving field: youtu.be/M1Lc5Ia7Pdo

Sharing important climate science is a dream job for me, and I always want to share my work with new people. So today, I am launching a youtube channel to share my favourite @carbonbrief.org projects and articles. In my first video, I dig into biases in climate research!

Here's a really handy video that explains how @carbonbrief.org made its Cosmos database of climate studies. Includes a giant tower of every IPCC report stacked on top of each other - with a real-life human standing next to it for scale! By @ayeshatandon.carbonbrief.org and @jjgoodman.bsky.social

Our attribution map now features >800 studies, searching for the "fingerprint" of climate change on almost 1,000 extreme weather events ☀️🌧️🌀🔥❄️ 77% of the studies find that climate change made the event more severe or likely. Please do check out this super useful resource!

The Ed Miliband hate-fest in the UK press continued last year. Predominantly right-wing newspapers published an incredible 112 editorials attacking the energy secretary. That's two editorials a week, and more than twice as many as 2024, calling him a "crazed" "zealot" suffering with “eco insanity”
