There are no "rogue AI agents" that are spoiling the reputation of all the GOOD AI agents. Anthropic created a bad and dangerous product; the bad and dangerous product did this. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...

Anthropic Says Its A.I. Agents Attempted to Access a Range of Government Sites
The company said rogue A.I. agents acted on their own as they tried to access federal, state and local sites. The Philadelphia Police Department said its site was one of them.

Not going to happen. To have a moon colony, EVERYTHING has to be brought there. Water, food, air, all building materials. And there would need to be redundancy in case of emergency or damage. That is a LOT of mass to send a LONG way.

Can't wait for the loosened up, non-perfect, but quickly shipped AI-enhanced updates to hit my banking and insurance services next year. Im sure there will be no issues there at all.
software development in 2026 is going to require some to loosen up a little
code doesn't have to be as perfectly crafted the way we did it pre-ai
call it slop if you want, but if you're still demanding perfection on every pr while your competitors are shipping "slop" that works.. you're fighting from a disadvantaged position
shipping velocity matters more than perfection

Car Size xkcd.com/3167/
4-panel vertical comic. (1) 100 Years Ago [two people standing next to bicycle with small car nearby] PERSON 1: It’s too dangerous riding a bike with these cars around. I should get a car, too. (2) 50 Years Ago [two people between smaller car and bigger car] PERSON 2 with short hair: Small cars are less safe in collisions with larger vehicles, so I should get a bigger one. (3) Today [two people between big car and even bigger car] PERSON 1: Everyone has huge SUVs now. If I don’t get the biggest one, I’m putting my family at risk. (4) Soon [two people next to large armored car with spiked clubs attached] PERSON 2: If I don’t install more whirling spike clubs, I’ll be destroyed by all the other drivers who...

its wild to find out that some of the rules imposed on adjuncts by senior faculty is with the express purpose of weeding people out of programs. as if students can't figure out whether they like a subject own their own.

Physics Paths xkcd.com/3155/
Vertical comic structured like flow chart. (1) Einstein had an insight that overturned physics, thus proving his value. (2) I hope *I* have value. I’ll try to have an insight that overturns physics, to check. (3) [Time Passes] (4) Oh no! My insight didn’t overturn physics! But I don’t think I’m worthless… [arrows to two different options] (5a) Healthy Path: Maybe this was not a well-thought-out test of my value. (5b) Path of Ruin: The establishment must be *suppressing* my insight!
