The line about Galene being as smart as a bag of hammers had me absolutely dying, loved your writing!

Time to buy another planner I’ll definitely be very excited to use for about 2 weeks in January and then again for a day in August before resolving to do better next year

Samus taught me that its okay to feel alone, to fight alone if you have to, that there’s power in self-discovery and exploration and that being 6 foot tall, blonde and ripped as hell is cool as fuck

Just finished reading “House of the Underworld” by @ciricegray.itch.io last night. The way Cirice et al. weaved the narrative into the thoughtful spaces left to unfold for us in “The Persephone Effect” had me weeping even as I knew what had to happen. Wonderful book, incredible experience.

Oh for sure, some of the smaller character interactions are on 1s and it just feels so….tangible in an oddly spooky way

Yeah apparently hand drawing massive inked scenes with intricate backgrounds moving by at hundreds of miles an hour is really hard and expensive and why tffff didn’t people go see this movie when it came out ugh its so deliciously detailed

This is me on my ‘25 Honda Hornet. Owned dozens of bikes but this is the one that has me itching to get out and just ride for the sheer joy of sensation. Get yourself an Aerostitch Roadcrafter suit and a Honda and you’ll ride happily for decades. #motorcycle

A rider in a grey armored suit sits on a white and black Honda standard motorcycle with red accents. The bike is a CB750, in the background a black Mazda Miata sits in the driveway of a tree-lined neighborhood.

Redline should be classified as erotica for speed sickos. Absolute fever dream classic that (almost?) bankrupted the studio, god I love that movie.

Can’t forget about Haven! Danger knocked that soundtrack out of the park and made what would’ve been a cute but forgettable relationship light adventure game into something I still think back on fondly.

“But no. Shit to do today Way too much shit to do. And she’s forgiven so many things lately.” This had me cheering a little cheerleader cheer for our girl. Good chapter indeed

Have to fangirl out a little bit here and say you’re one of my favorite authors too omg 😱

Ava Aran @avaaran.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Oh for sure! I enjoyed A Mask for the Sun (it wrecked me but in a different way) and Kimmy leaned into the discovering of hope after trauma that I resonated with. And I’ve read much of your work too ;) GO was a wild follow-up to UCD, brilliant stuff! and Those Who Break Chains, and Gunrunner

Ava Aran @avaaran.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Every person I’ve convinced to read UCD has come back altered in a way that I find deeply validating.

Okay so I’m going to be real with you this book changed my life and got me back into reading simply because I needed to know if there was other art out there that would make me feel the way this book did. So I read another 100 books this year- nothing came close to the devastation this book wrought.

the thing about third spaces is that you're supposed to, you know, not have to pay to exist in them. can't say that about bars nightclubs bowling alleys movie theaters (maybe marinas?). these are spaces that are declining because we're all broke and you need money to be in them.

"Trans people will always exist." Cool. "They can't kill us all." Comforting. Yeah, transness will survive, but *I* want to survive, too, y'know? But also, survival and existence aren't enough for me anymore, and they shouldn't be enough for allies either. I want to see my trans friends thrive.

Are you naive or stupid? Because the philosophy and propaganda of trans segregation is advanced by focusing on existing spheres that are sex-segregated and hot-button, i.e. bathrooms, prisons, sports. This is obviously not just about athletes. It's about denying legibility and recognition.

Seriously, Monday morning quarterbacking on this or Skrmeti are a waste of time and presumes the justices are operating in good faith. They're not. No argument would've persuaded them. This ruling, like Skrmeti, was political from top to bottom.

I'm gonna be deadass: when they took this case, I was expecting the Court to rule the same way as the UK For Women Scotland case ruled: as a way to rule that trans people didn't exist as a matter of law. This ain't that. It's bullshit. But it's the smallest amount we possibly could've gotten.
