To The Dance Floor #ColorADay #BlueTue #Margate #ECK #Canon #Dreamland #Coast #Urban #Fotografia #Kent #Dancing
A photograph of two iconic buildings that overlook the sea from the opposite side of a road that tracks the beach. One an old cinema that also forms part of the entrance walkway to a local theme come amusement park. Made of brown bricks it has a brutalist quality whilst windows at ground level are more redolent of art deco in my mind. The words DREAMLAND and DANCING displayed in yellow lights. Beyond it a neighbouring and equally iconic tower block fills the remaining space within the image so that surrounding area and sky aren’t visible. It’s late afternoon on a sunny enough day but the light now fading as the sun dipped into low haze.

On a black background there is a continuous thin blue line with a slight bend going from the lower left of the image to the upper right. Running parallel to that line is a gold dotted line, reminiscent of the teeth in a zipper.

The old sign for Southgate Cleaners in Abbotsford, evidence of the once-golden age of neon signage in and around Vancouver BC, now preserved at the Museum of Vancouver (MOV).
Image: a fleet-footed neon fellow with golden face, hands, and hair, a flapping red tie, a green business suit, and blue shoes (of comically mismatched proportions) in mid-stride, carrying what appears to be a freshly folded pink dress shirt.

Rocky Mountain Magpie This Eurasian magpie was far from home in Rocky Mountain National Park. #BirdOfTheDay #EFG #ColorADay #BlueTue #birds #EastCoastKin #RockinTues #ECK #PhotographersUnited
A Eurasian magpie standing in snow in the parking lot of an overlook with the snow-covered Rocky Mountains in the background. It looks like it's posing for the camera. The bird has a black head, breast, beak, eyes, wings, and legs with a white belly. It's facing the camera with its head turned a little bit to the left and up. It looks very proud. There's a pine tree on the left. There's a thick blanket of white clouds above the mountains with a little bit of blue sky in the top right corner.

Blood red #urban #surreal #photography #WindowsOnWednesday #WackyWednesdayArt #ColorADay #RedWed #ArtYear #EastCoastKin
A dramatic architectural photograph dominated by deep red tones, showing a large modern high-rise rising behind an older church or historic building. Dark horizontal beams divide the composition, partially obscuring the tower and creating strong geometric bands. Rows of illuminated windows punctuate the high-rise, while the church’s peaked roofs, arched windows, and crosses provide a contrasting historic form below. The intense red sky and architecture give the scene a surreal, ominous atmosphere.

Sept 30 is #OrangeShirtDay. Schoolchildren heading home on foot, on wheels, in groups, or alone in their shirts today was a vivid, joyful reminder of the opportunity to honour Survivors of Indian Residential and day schools & their families, through acts of remembrance, reconciliation & friendship 🧡
One of a collection of small orange T-shirts hanging on a school fence on the evening before National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The front is decorated with the word ‘hope’ and also the outline of a child’s hands and a pair of feathers.

You can find a good picture just about anywhere. This was a puddle in my back alley.
The image presents an artistic and inverted view of a realistic scene, primarily capturing the reflection in a large puddle on a textured ground surface. The ground, which frames the reflection, appears to be made of small, irregular gravel or asphalt, exhibiting various shades of grey and brown, providing a rough and speckled texture. This gritty surface occupies the upper and lower portions of the frame, acting as the border of the liquid mirror. Within the central area of the image, the reflection vividly displays an expansive sky, characterized by a soft gradient of colors. The upper part of the reflected sky is a delicate light blue, dotted with wispy white clouds that suggest a clear yet dynamic atmosphere. This blue transitions seamlessly into a warm, inviting orange and pink hue towards the lower section of the reflection, indicative of either a serene sunrise or a tranquil sunset. A prominent feature within this reflected landscape is a tall utility pole, dark and slender, rising vertically from the lower part of the reflection and extending upwards. Numerous thin power lines stretch horizontally across the sky, connecting to the pole and creating delicate linear patterns against the colorful backdrop. To the right of the utility pole, the dense canopy of several green trees is visible in the reflection, their forms indistinct but adding a touch of natural foliage to the urban elements. A dark, angular shape, possibly the roofline of a distant building, is also subtly reflected on the far right. The spatial relationship creates a sense of depth, with the sky appearing above the terrestrial elements, even though it's a reflection. The lighting is soft and diffused, casting no harsh shadows within the reflection, which enhances the peaceful and dreamlike atmosphere. Small ripples or disturbances are visible on the surface of the water, slightly blurring some details and adding to the ethereal quality of the scene.

Engaged in some truly stupid and unnecessary democracy tonight, as can only be done in Alberta. Thanks Danielle...for fucking nothing.
The image captures a realistic scene on a warm-toned wooden table, showcasing documents related to voting procedures. In the foreground, a black pen with silver accents rests on the right side of the table, indicating a workspace or preparation area. The primary focus is on two paper documents: a white instruction sheet on the left and a vibrant yellow voting guide on the right. The white sheet is titled "HOW TO DEPOSIT YOUR BALLOTS IN ENVELOPE A" in bold, black capital letters and features the 'elections Alberta' logo in the top left corner. Below the title, four numbered steps are outlined, each accompanied by a small photographic illustration depicting the process. Step 1 says, "Mark the ballots," showing hands holding a ballot. Step 2 instructs, "Place the ballots in a pile and fold them in half," with an image of hands folding papers. Step 3 states, "Place the folded ballots in Envelope A," illustrated by hands inserting folded papers into an envelope. Step 4 is "Seal the envelope," with an image showing a sealed envelope. At the bottom of this white document, there's additional text: "To view the status of your special ballot package, click on the web link provided in your Special Ballot Request Confirmation email." The yellow voting guide, partially overlaid by the white sheet, prominently displays the word "VOTE" in large, stylized letters within a white circular graphic, which appears to be distressed or textured. Above the "VOTE" circle, the same 'elections Alberta' logo is visible, and the handwritten number "8117" is written in black ink near the top edge. The guide's main title, "Voting in Alberta Provincial Guide," is printed in black text at the bottom. Below this, categories like "provincial elections," "by-elections," and "referendums" are listed.

Six views and phases of one sunset over Lake Ontario at Balmy Beach in Toronto. The sky with streaking clouds changes dramatically from pale pink and blue, all pastel pink, to vibrant yellow and pink and blue, to bright orange and grey. The water visible in some images reflects the sky's colours.
