I actually literally do not think they realize what they've done here. Sonic isn't just a game with fans. It's basically embedded in the fabric of the internet. Since I clicked the link ten minutes ago, two THOUSAND more people joined. And it only has five channels to post in and four moderators.

by late game (spoilers), their influence has blown pigmasks so far into becoming a fascist estate that the entire town leaves and settles in a rundown version of NYC structured by cardboard and toxic waste. your formerly friendly neighbors become crabby, obsessed, etc essentially

this is super nerdy to say but AI is kind of like 1:1 with the happy boxes from mother 3. it resembles tv but actually isn't, theyre just flashing colors on a screen that act as jingling keys injected by big Pigmask artificially into an unknowing populace

It's always soul crushing when you put so much of your time&energy into a friendship & helping them out with anything you can only for them to not do the same for you and to just actively avoid you in time of need for years. Apologies years later are nice but they can't really fix things like that.

Suddenly remembered how a really long time ago, an old friend group I was a part of and really looked up to them, one day suddenly all fucking turned on me and nobody every gave me a fucking reason why !! Some of them would just scream and lash out on me over trivial things, others just ghosted me

Very Ironic that I, fictive of a popular girl (in-universe and among the fans) am seemingly the most unpopular girl lmao Not that I care or anything, because I don't But sometimes it feels like most people I follow are in their own little cliques and I'm looking in from the outside of it all lol

The older I get, the more I think "maybe we shouldn't try to fix every game even if it has flaws (unless they're game breaking)". Maybe appreciating a game despite it's shortcomings is part of enjoying art for what it is rather than what it isn't Maybe every game SHOULDN'T be a flawless masterpiece.

Translation patches aren't a fucking checklist for flag planting. Demands for "fluency" and "technical chops" aren't gatekeeping. Anyone who learns the skills is welcome to contribute. If you bypass them, you're just having a tantrum at the expense of the original devs and foreign players. Piss off.

"RE4's UNFINISHED demo" No fucking shit it's unfinished. It's a goddamn demo lol What gamers typically feel is a demo is actually a trial version (of a final build); yes, there *is* a difference. Yes I know the industry itself gets these terms wrong but that doesn't change what the definitions are.

Finished Panzer Dragoon Saga tonight. It's a very unique RPG and a really neat conclusion to the trilogy of the Saturn PD games. I liked it more this time than I did when I first played it a few years ago; I think the fact that I have a bigger love for the world & lore of PD made it a lot better.

With Sakura Wars turning thirty, here's the first place I ever heard about the game: Casey Loe's review in the December 1996 issue of Gamefan. American magazines from this era tended to mock "dating sims" if they covered them at all, but this is a pretty good piece.
