I really liked Graveyard Keeper. And what I've seen of GK2 looks like it'd scratch that itch for me pretty good. But also, the taint of possible AI use has clung to it since one of the company's own high-ups has been openly enthusiastic about AI. Hate how this shit leads to so much second-guessing.

I've established that there is a single beholder living peacefully in Great Crag, the capital of Droaam. Now to figure out the circumstances that would make it part of a combat encounter. The party's only level 5, so it wouldn't be a stand-up fight against the beholder. I mean... probably.

Just finished playing Ambrosia Sky. Good game! Enjoyed it a lot. Chill but somber. My main takeaway on plot themes could be summarized as "sometimes there's no closure to be had, and even what you get isn't the kind you want."

One thing I love doing as a GM when building combat encounters is to have the second wave/reinforcements already present in some fashion but needing to be "activated." Like a monster in a cage, or dark wisps that congeal into spectral undead if left alone.
