Have nearly muted the names of *most* sports and also most team names that make up the main variants in the US, UK and AU.

The other part of my block list is made up of authors whose awfulness stems from their use of genAI art for covers and promo images. I don't know for certain if the interior of their books is also genAI, but I know for certain that I don't trust them.

Draft opening to 'Sin-Eater', which is the working title for the fiction component to my phd stuff:

A Rough-Hewn Thing

The taste of exile had not lessened over the years. A cold sip to go with every meal. An ache in his jaw. A coating of sand, heavy upon his tongue. All too complimentary to the picked-over remains of his memories. Those, he could usually count on to come wriggling out of the dark and drag him down.
Harder to anticipate was whether others would add their scorn to his plate.

Next film I watch will probably be a re-watch of this one - might take me a couple of nights tho, since my attention span is terrible of late:

Theatrical posts for 'Batman: Mask of the Phantasm'.

Against a sky of dark blue clouds, Batman hovers, cape extended out like a wingspan. Above him, a disembodied mask with a skull-like visage hangs.

The arrangement of the figures creates a section of negative space (compositionally) that suggests Batman's head with distinctive twin popints.

'Dark Fang' is now being proofed, so it's *very* close to being ready - now a matter of weeks, or less, I hope, since typesetting and the ordering a physical test copy will then follow :) Feeling excited to have this trilogy completed and a copy resting on my shelf :D

'The Ghost in the Shell' was heaps of fun - cool to see lots of humour showing up (as expected, of course), and the vivid palette was ace. Curious to see whether the suits will greenlight any more with Science Saru at the helm.

Hard watching this place (Australia) desperately, sycophantically *sprint* to follow America down every awful path it takes

The tone of each voice actor is so spot on for the characters - and Bart's scream is so good :D (I think Bart is Junko Hori or Yuka Takakura and Homer would be Toru Ohira or Jin Urayama).
