So, I get asked this a lot. What are the Winter Mage books like. Well if ASoIaF fell in love with The Walking Dead, and we flavoured the result with a dash of Robin Hobb, The Broken Empire & Seven Samurai...

A mention in Brittle Paper for Winter Mage! So excite! "The world Dorman creates is deliberately unforgiving. The peninsula is divided between clans competing for power while a flesh-hungry enemy presses in from outside.

Unlike works made by people, I feel nothing* when I see content that gets churned out by genAI software. The user behind it seems absent - their hand invisible, since they remain clouded by all that the software has scraped. *Well, nothing, save for anger that artists were ripped off yet again.

Same goes for authors. You don't have to buy expensive hardcovers of our books. You can request them from your local library, tell your book clubs about them, read and review on netgalley, share and repost covers and quotes. These are things I'm encouraging people to do for THE FIST OF MEMORY.

I know this isn't going to come across, like, at all, because it's writers I'm talking to, but for Mithras' sake, don't catastrophize! Don't spend all your time worrying about whether or not someone is going to like your work, whether editors are likely to buy it, whether it "sounds like AI"

The full wraparound illustration! If you're wondering if I painted all those mosaics by hand the answer is HELL YEAH (with many pauses to protect my fingers and wrist) You can back it HERE: www.kickstarter.com/projects/wra...

Wraparound over illustration for the Special Limited Edition of 'The Odyssey' by Homer painted by Eleonor Piteira for Wraithmarked Creative, showing a strong Odysseus with grey streaks in his hair and short dark beard, wearing golden armour and holding a spear and a shield, while standing in the sun before a mural made of mosaics featuring Athena standing over Ithaka and the sea while a few ships leave. An eagle holding a lightning bolt flies across the blue sky, and there are branches of olive trees on the foreground.

The Nine Inch Nails & Boys Noize album that dropped this year is EATING. It's live, and the sound quality is fantastic. I needed something to motivate me while I design stuff, and this has a bunch of the favourites but with extra sonic oomph.

I want to talk about what a spectacular sonic assault of atmospheric dread this soundtrack inflicts upon you. Ben Frost is a genius, and if you've yet to watch Dark in its entirety, then please do. Be patient. Soak in the slow burn of the unknown and tragedy.

Another album I feel deserves more love. This film is gloriously post-modern and although the story is tragic, it references so much of the music and culture that I grew up with. Also, Ewan McGregor's and Nicole Kidman's performances are simply [chef's kiss]
